Choosing a Church
Choosing a church home is no small task! We at Northview are regularly praying for the Lord to send people to join in the Kingdom work that we are doing. That being said, we also recognize that there are lots of churches doing the Lord’s work and it is important for followers of Jesus to find a church that is the right fit. Our prayer is that you find the right fit and our selfish hope is that it happens to be Northview! Regardless of which church the Lord is leading you to be a part of, we hope that you will take the time to sit down, grab a cup of coffee, and discuss these questions with a friend or family member. Spend time praying through this decision and trust that the Lord will bless you and guide you toward the right decision.
Questions for Consideration
Is this a group of people with whom I can find meaningful community? Will I be cared for? Am I willing to care for others?
What are the ministries that are most important to me and my discipleship to Jesus? Do those ministries exist at the churches that I am considering? Am I willing to invest my time and energy in those ministries?
Are there opportunities for me to use my gifts in service to the Lord and his church?
Do I align with the teachings of this church? Will the teaching here challenge me to grow spiritually?
Will the leadership of this church support me in both the good times and the bad?
Am I willing to work within this community, not just as a recipient, but as someone who will offer my time, energy, and finances as this church seeks to grow the Kingdom?
Most importantly, is this a church that will help me grow to be more like Jesus in all facets of life?
